10 March 1847 - The first Hawaiian coins were issued as copper cents with the portrait of King Kamehameha III (see the big coing above, not to scale).

10 March 1862 - USA issues its first paper money and the face on the dollar bill (see above) was Salmon P Chase, the US Treasurer.
